How do you respond to this pitch?

So, I got this email from a guy know… he is an author, speaker, and all that good stuff. He’s pretty good. I’ve actually learned a few things from him in “paid” and “unpaid” settings before.

I got this email from him… and yes this was his entire email.

I’m doing a small mastermind / workshop.

In Miami on March 14-16.

Do you want to come?

Cost is $2500.

Satisfaction guaranteed.

It will be me, my whole team, and about 40 students.

Email me back if you’re interested and I will send more info.

Schedule, speakers, live workshops, etc.

Again: satisfaction guaranteed.

It will pay for itself within the first few hours.

Now here is what happend. I read this email. I instantly went to my calendar to check if I could make it. Unfortuntely the dates didn’t work for me but then I stopped… and I asked myself. How did that just happen? How did I get “sold” to take that action? Was it my past experience? Was it the risk-reversal with “satisfaction guaranteed” because that was a faux risk reversal as he didn’t even commit to refunding the money or anything like that? Or was it just how simple and to the point the ask was… because it sure as heck couldn’t have been Miami because I love Laguna too much 🙂 Just kidding.

Lesson: I am pretty sure I am going to send you something like this at some point in the future, because it looks like it kinda worked!

    I wonder if the connecting to the person asking had any influence?
    It did not do much for me, but after you said you might send something similar out I stopped to think about it.
